![]() Unplug the PTO before removing the bolt.ĥ) Remove the old belt and fish it out from around the steering shaft and idlers. ![]() Without an impact the shop manual recommends removing the upper motor shroud to access the flywheel bolt so you can hold the crankshaft from spinning. If you have an impact wrench its a 2 minute job if not its a PITA. But that was just me being stupid, its not that hard.Ģ) Raise the tractor so you can get under it - I used 4 jackstands, others have lifted the front of the machine.Ģ(a) Take pictures of the belt routing at key points like the idlers and pulleysģ) Remove the two bolts from the crossmember that holds the steering gear but you don't need to remove the whole thing - it just pivots so you can get the belt around the steering shaft.Ĥ) The hardest part: remove the PTO clutch. ![]() I was too busy trying to stop the bleeding. I did the drive belt on my 175 but didn't take pix or start a thread.
